CHILD AND FAMILY ASSESSMENT Facilitated by
Martin Chester & Julie Tappenden Effective assessments from a
psychodynamic approach are essential when working with children, adolescents
and their families. Assessments help to focus on the work to be explored and
are particularly useful with short-term work. They are also useful in
identifying whether the work should be child or family focused.
ADHD AND COMPLEX BEHAVIOURS Facilitated by
Martin Chester & Heidi Pratchett A sound, theoretical knowledge
of diagnosed conditions such as ADHD, OCD, ODD and other related complexities
is essential in order to effectively work with young people and adults with
complex behavioural needs.
THERAPEUTIC PLAY Facilitated by Martin
Chester & Julie Tappenden This symbolic play training is for
those who want to work at a deeper level with therapeutic play, using
archetypical figures and objects. We will utilise a range of media to help the
young person explore and act out his unconscious world and his internal
difficulties.
CHALLENGING BEHAVIOUR Facilitated by Martin
Chester & Julie Tappenden Whilst working with adolescents in
difficulties, young people often express their anger, frustration or sadness in
a challenging way. Learning effective therapeutic interventions for working
with young people individually or in a group is essential for a positive
outcome in changing and modifying negative or destructive
behaviours.
CREATIVE PLAY WITH PUPPETS Facilitated by
Martin Chester & Julie Tappenden Using puppets is a creative way
for a child to explore his world and to learn how to express his internal world
and difficult emotions. Being invited into the child's play takes skill and
practice, both of which will be achieved during this training.
BULLYING - EFFECTIVE INTERVENTIONS Facilitated
by Martin Chester & Mark Cobbin Effective therapeutic
interventions for individuals or groups, working with bullies or victims of
bullying, to enhance your work as a counsellor or classroom support, with the
aim of having a positive outcome for the child.
7 BASIC PSYCHOLOGICAL HUNGERS Facilitated by
Denise King & Martin Chester Whether working with adolescents or
adults, this training will give you a better understanding and enhance your
knowledge of how a lack of nurturing can cause psychological imbalances.
Working with the 7 hungers and the purpose of play can help to redress the
balance with the aim of attaining a more positive way of being.
